Dr. Krauthammer earned his medical degree in Israel and completed his ophthalmology residency at Tel Aviv Medical Center. Driven by a special interest in corneal disease and transplantation, he went on to fellowship training in cataract, cornea, and anterior segment disease. He then moved to Boston to pursue advanced research training in corneal immunology, spending three years as a research fellow at the Schepens Eye Research Institute of Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School. He is excited to join UPMC as a Cornea Fellow. His clinical and research interests include corneal immunology, corneal infections, corneal transplantation, and refractive surgery.
